Well if it is , it will probably surprise you to know that New York City, in particular , has been the largest and most popular market for my iron beds for over 30 years. I’ve been selling beds for over 40 years. But only got into shipping them within the past 30 years.
Over 12 years ago when my website was built and I started pursuing business out side of the four walls I called my store, little did I know that a city at the other end of the country and one that embraces “modern” decor more than any other would have a love affair with my antique iron beds.
One of the reasons our beds are so popular with people living in Manhattan is their ability to give you that “WOW” factor without visually taking up as much space as a wooden or an upholstered headboard does. Because many of the condos and apartments have smaller bedrooms ……economy of space, both physically and visually are usually a real issue. Iron beds have a lighter look and also can be placed in from of a window without blocking the view or light source…… again….. unlike a wooden or upholstered headboard.
Many of the better decorators I’ve dealt with over the years call New York City home. Of all the decorators I deal with all over the country, NYC decorators tend to buy more than one bed for their clients a a time, more than any other region in the country.
