Over the years I’ve had customer want me to do finishes on the iron beds they’ve gotten from me, around everything under the sun. I’ve had child’s parents send me comic books with colors circled that their child wanted their bed painted like.
I’ve had the Ralph Lauren Co. send me material swatches, paint chips, pillows etc. to match the colors with distressed finishes on the beds they had gotten from me.
But one of the more unique requested was from a woman who selected a beautiful bed from me and asked that we do a finish on it to match a collection of copper pots that she had in her bedroom. As you can see from the photo…….our refinisher did a very good job. There was quite a lot of brass that went on this particular bed, and she asked that the brass be patinated to look more like copper than brass.
If you’ve read any of my other blogs you’ve probably heard me singing the praises of beds and their unique ability to blend and adapt into any setting or decor by simply changing their finish. That quality that our beds possess is not something brass or wooden beds can boast. Only metal beds can be painted any number of different finishes over and over again………. and still look great
Supplying a bed for Extreme Home was a definite honor and pleasure. Hope we get to do it again in the future.
