It always fun when I go to the movies and see a bed of ours I wasn’t even aware was purchased for the movie.
Because of where we’re located, in the Los Angeles area, we sell most of the antique iron beds that end up in feature films, TV shows and commercials. But much of the time I’m not aware of the particular show they’ll end up in.
This particular bed sighting was in the movie ” What’s Your Number” staring Anna Faris and Chris Evans. It was a light hearted comedy.
I was very pleased to see the bed was displayed so prominently in a number of scenes. It showed the directors feeling that this particular bed lent a certain emotion and importance to the setting and surroundings.
That is usually the case when a client of mine buys a particular bed…….they want it to occupy a certain degree of importance in their bedroom. Some people want their bed to simply be an item of furniture that elevates their mattress off the floor. But others want whatever bed they select to carry a much more prestigious position and be the focal point of their room.
The beauty of iron beds is that whatever “role” you want your bed to play, can be achieved by the style, design and finish you decide on.
