It’s crafted of cast iron with fitted wood panels, with flowing lines artfully arranged in a naturalistic fan motif. The wooden panels are adorned with Celtic-inspired creatures and mother-of-pearl accents.
It’s almost impossible when you look at it to even think it is an antique iron bed. It looks more like wood or some composite .
Iron beds of the Art Nouveau period were usually very flowing in their designs. They didn’t have scrolling or open ended designs. All the designs flowed in a continuous manner, always being interrelated.
This period in time saw more iron and wood used together than all design periods put together.
The bed in this photo is one of the best beds I’ve seen in any period of design.
